A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

ARE YOU PART OF THE PROBLEM OR PART OF THE SOLUTION?

Once upon a time there was a girl called Mary, now Mary’s mom frequently told her that she was special.
What Mary’s mother forgot to tell her is that she however needed to contribute to the world to STAY special.

When Mary got her first job – she got to work on time the first few days,  but after about three months she
started coming a little later and soon she started making all sorts of excuses; that in her head were very
justified, sometimes it rained really hard, sometimes she had spent the night working late on a brief and she
rationalized that she was despite the occasional lapse – a necessary part of the company where she worked.

But – one day Mary’s boss called her into his office and told her that they were letting her go, “you see”
he said- “the economy has not really been performing well lately and now there are these machines that
have started doing the work and for less and we just have no choice but to let you go because we have to
save costs”

Mary was special, no doubt – as all of us are – but Mary’s mother did her an injustice, she forgot to tell
her that once you become an adult you have to contribute DAILY to STAY special and whereas Mary’s
world was changing all around her- Mary didn’t bother to ask herself how she could work on staying
special – how she could contribute and continue to stay relevant each day. How she could redefine
herself, identify her company’s problems and pain points and provide solutions.

Are you Mary? Or are you part of the Solution?
