For a good reason, Influencer marketing has had power for a while now. Marketers have used it and have found it effective.

Influencer marketing is virtual to every brand because people trust recommendations from influencers. It can also help drive traffic to your website, engagement, and conversations.

The large following may not always result in being an influence. In light of this, it is important for a brand to understand what they are trying to achieve from their campaign and what kind of influencer can drive this.

For example; a celebrity influencer may do a good job in creating your brand’s awareness and driving sales or purchases, whereas a key opinion leader can deliver content to your target audience and create engagement about product/ service.

On the influencer side:

KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE: We often find people “jumping” from one brand to another which makes believability hard and having an actual audience that you can influence close to nothing.

UNDERSTAND YOUR AUDIENCE: What you like and create a niche audience for you do not want to be a jack of all trades but master of none.

1.    Know your audience and focus on resonating with them

Create, create and create good content that will give your audiences meaning and reason to engage with you.

2.    Find your unique voice

Don’t go with the trend and what another influencer who has “made it” is doing. Produce content that speaks for you to your target audience.

3.    Choose the right platform.

You don’t have to be everywhere! Choose the platform where your target audience is engaged with and trusts you.

4.    Focus on the metrics that matter.

 Don’t be that influencer that is obsessed with getting a large following. Focus on metrics like engagement and ROI.

Is your audience engaging with your content and are they buying what you are selling?

Don’t be the influencer with 20K followers with more than half of them being in bots or not the same country as you or with only 20 likes and 1 comment on a post.
